You Have to Do What You Can to Stay Fit for As Long As Possible

I looked in the phone book to find a chiropractor in San Francisco right after I fell off the curb in front of my apartment complex. I had gone through all the trouble that can come with hurting your back many years before, and I knew from experience that you don’t mess around and let the problem grow worse. What can feel like such a small injury that can be ignored can easily become a much bigger problem before you know it. I play softball and am really active on a weekly basis. Sports is my life and I really did not want to find myself unable to keep up with my team members.

The chiropractor I went to was great and fixed me up pretty quickly, I still go to see him because he keeps my back in good shape. Years earlier, I had tried to ignore the pain I was having and I found myself barely able to sit or stand for a month because of it. You really cannot let these things go. This is a lesson that I had to learn the hard way. I have always been one that has ignored pain, and I did that during my teen years and through much of my twenties. But the older you get, the more you need to stay on top of things. You may find that you don’t heal as well on your own.

After getting some good care for my back, I was back out on the softball field playing again within just a week. It is important for me to stay in shape, and I really enjoy being active with athletics. I really do not know what I will do one day when I am in my 80s and feel that I can no longer participate in sports. But for now, I try to do what I can to keep myself able to stay active for as long as possible.
